As someone who runs a website, it is often important to gather people’s feedback making it essential to know how to integrate a poll in a post on your WordPress site.

  1. First, you will need to log into your Domain of One’s Own Account
  2. Scroll down on your dashboard until you see Web Applications and then click on your blog
  3. Then choose the admin link which is the middle link to take you to your WordPress dashboard.
  4. Scroll down until you reach the plug-ins tab and click on it.
  5. Choose the “Add new” option
  6. Type “Polldaddy Polls and Ratings” into the search bar. There are many different poll plug-ins that you can use but since as a UMW you will have free access to any Polldaddy features that is the plug-in I recommend.
  7. Download the plug-in and then go to your installed plug-ins page.
  8. Scroll down until you see the plug-in and then click “Activate”.
  9. Next you will need to create your polldaddy account using your UMW email address
  10. Once you have an account click the drop down arrow in the menu bar on the polldady website and click on my account.
  11. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and follow the instructions given to generate your API key you will need this for later so makes sure you save it.

Once the plug-in is activated you can integrate it into any post using the following steps

  5. Once your API key is in this link should take you to the Polldaddy website where you can log in with your UMW ID and password.
  6. You will be given the option to create your own poll, survey, or quiz.
  7. Once you have created the poll, survey, or quiz  click the “collect votes” button located in the top right hand corner.
  8. This will lead you to a page with 4 tabs
  9. Click on the Word Press tab
